North Atlanta's grill repair & cleaning specialist — gas, pellet & ceramic grills. We come to you.
Kevin is a specialist, not a generalist. Five years of professional grill service — plus a lifetime of cooking on every type of rig — means every diagnosis is accurate and every repair is done right the first time.
Full diagnosis and repair of all gas grill systems — ignition to burner to regulator. All major brands.
Offset, pellet, kamado, and cabinet smokers. Keep temperatures dialed and smoke running true.
A deep-cleaned grill runs better, lasts longer, and cooks safer. Kevin does it right — not just a quick scrub.
Don't replace it — restore it. We source worn components and bring your grill back to full condition.
Island grills and integrated outdoor kitchen systems most techs won't touch.
Gas fireplaces, fire pits, and fire tables — repaired, resealed, and brought back to life.
Spring startup and fall shutdown. Get your grill season-ready. Includes written inspection report.
When it's time for something new, Kevin recommends the right grill for how you cook — then handles everything.
Once the grill's fixed, the conversation usually turns to BBQ. Kevin's happy to talk through whatever's on your mind — it comes with the visit.

Many grill techs won't touch anything gas-related. Kevin can convert your grill from tank to natural gas line (when a line is already present), handle minor line re-routes in outdoor kitchen setups, and identify common gas leaks at the grill connection. He works within his scope and will always tell you honestly when a job requires a licensed plumber.
A $125 service call fee covers a full on-site inspection. Kevin will work through the problem and get you a quote as quickly as he can — some jobs are straightforward, others take a little more figuring out. Either way, he'll keep you in the loop. $50 of that fee applies toward your repair if you decide to move forward.
I grew up on Pitts Road in Richmond, Texas — which tells you something about where this business got its name. BBQ in Houston isn't a hobby, it's a baseline. I've been cooking outdoors my whole life, on everything I could get my hands on. These days that means brisket, whole pigs, backstrap, quail, spatchcock turkey, sausage, smash burgers on the flat top. If you can cook it over fire or smoke, I've probably tried it.
The name It's the Pits is part personal history, part tribute. It honors the It's the Pits Cookers — a highly awarded Texas BBQ competition team I worked alongside at the Fort Bend County Fair. I hauled tables, stirred beans, stayed out of the way, and learned a lot from some seriously good cooks and good men. We sponsor their non-profit every year. Check them out.
I met Brooke in the Texas Hill Country — won her over with a steak on a cheap apartment patio grill. Three kids later, I've cooked for this family just about every weekend since. I've also spent years cooking professionally and plenty of evenings just feeding neighbors on the lake because that's what you do. This business isn't a side project. It's how the Montgomery family pays the bills, and I treat every job like it.
We've been in Cumming since 2015. Brooke's family has been on Lake Lanier a lot longer than that. When you call, you're calling a neighbor — I'll tell you what's wrong, tell you what it'll cost, and fix it. If it's not worth fixing, I'll tell you that too.
Whoever's fixing your grill ought to know how to cook on one. That's pretty much the whole idea.

Kevin was awesome. He was able to come earlier than the scheduled appointment and asked me if it was okay. He was very knowledgeable, diagnosed my problem, and fixed it. Highly recommend Kevin.
Our outdoor fireplace had been declared "unrepairable" by two other companies. Kevin came out the next day, sourced the part, and had it running by the weekend. Incredible service.
Feels like calling a friend who actually knows what he's doing. Honest about what it would cost, fast, and he even gave me tips on my smoke game while he was here.
